This idea is great for twins with a passion for football. Two cakes - one each with detail players in appropriate colours.
This rich chocolate rugby ball was for a teenager’s eighteenth birthday. His nickname is written on top. He had quite a party and so an extra cutting cake in matching green icing for the grass was provided for all the extra guests.
Eighteen mounting points for candles were added amongst the grass so the candles did not spoil the cake itself.![]()

This is another pirate themed cake - not quite so large as the Pirate Treasure Chest but we needed a cake for a family celebration of the same birthday! The map is painted in edible paint on a sugar paste “paper”. The chocolate coins and shells round the edge keep the treasure theme working.
The Pirate Treasure Chest was, in fact, made for my daughter, who was keen to have a Pirate Themed party for her seventh birthday. The cake inside was my special rich chocolate recipe and went down a treat, if somewhat messy in the hands of all those little pirates! The jewels were goood value, and formed part of the childrens’ party bags when they went home.
